Abstract
The Wolf-Ziegler reaction carried out in CCl4 or chlorobenzene on unsa turated acids was found to give the isomeric mono, di or tri bromide p roducts corresponding to a decarboxylation process, instead of the exp ected allylic substitution reaction. Some of the compounds thus prepar ed can constitute key intermediates in further synthesis and they are required in great quantities.
