Abstract
All the possible types of surface light wave that can exist on the bou ndary of a photorefractive uniaxial crystal with a diffusion-drift non linearity mechanism are identified. It is shown that by varying the ma gnitude and direction of an external electric field E-0 one can contro l both the parameters and the type of the surface wave. In the particu lar case of zero field E-0 (the diffusion nonlinearity mechanism) the general solution agrees with the solution obtained in Ref. 5. (C) 1997 American Institute of Physics.
