Abstract
HIV-1 gene expression requires the transactivator Tat, which stimulate s viral transcript elongation. Recent results show that two cellular c yclin-dependent kinases, which phosphorylate the carboxy-terminal doma in of the RNA polymerase II large subunit, contact Tat and contribute to the control of transcriptional elongation.
