N-Substituted phenothiazines were oxidized by 2,2,6,6-tetramethy-4-ace
tyloxypiperidine oxoammonium hexachloroantimonate (TAPO) to the corres
ponding radical cations in sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) micellar solut
ion. The radical cations of phenothiazine derivatives were generated a
nd stabilized by the anionic micelle in aqueous solution. mn electron
transfer mechanism has been proposed.
