Photopolymer compositions for a high density black matrix, which was a
pplied to a flat-bed display, have been investigated. To obtain the hi
gh density matrix, new epoxyacrylate monomers, which worked as a dispe
rsing reagent of carbon black (CB) and as a polymerizing reagent, and
hgh speed photo-initiator systems containing a new singlet-sensitizer
dye were developed. The relation of the image formation and the pigmen
t dispersing character with the chemical structure of the monomers, an
d photo-initiating mechanisms, which were analyzed by a laser flash ph
otolysis in a polymer film, are discussed.
