Abstract
It is shown theoretically that the excess noise of the radiation sourc e can be compensated in a fiberoptic gyroscope with a 3X3 ring directi onal coupler and a differential amplifier at the exit. This noise is o ne of the main factors limiting the precision of a fiber-optic gyrosco pe. (C) 1997 American Institute of Physics.
