Abstract
The causes for the onset of a specific operating regime of MHD inducti on devices which arises after a loss of stability of the uniform flow are investigated. A modification of the original method of studying si ngularly perturbed dynamical systems in the neighborhood of a bifurcat ion point is used to construct the asymptotic behavior of the characte ristic pressure for various limiting cases.
