Mi. Bakunov et Ns. Gurbatov, SPLITTING OF AN ELECTROMAGNETIC PULSE ON RESONANT REFLECTION FROM A PLASMA FILM, Technical physics, 42(6), 1997, pp. 644-647
It is found theoretically that the temporal profile of a quasimonochro
matic electromagnetic pulse is strongly distorted on reflection from a
thin (on the wavelength scale) film of a plasma-like (semiconductor,
metallic) medium under plasma-resonance conditions. It is shown that a
n incident Gaussian pulse splits with time (completely or partially) i
nto two reflected pulses, whose amplitudes can be controlled by varyin
g the relationships among the parameters of the incident pulse and the
film. (C) 1997 American Institute of Physics.
