Abstract
Raman spectroscopy has been used to study structural changes in pyroly tic boron nitride irradiated by 7 MeV protons. It is shown that the io nizing component of the proton irradiation effectively reduces the num ber of grain boundaries while the displacing component induces the for mation of stacking faults in the boron nitride structure.
