Abstract
The oxides A(2)B(2)O(7) and A(2)B(2)O(6) With the pyrochlore structure and nonferroelectric phase transitions are suitable materials for cap acitors. Their behavior, including their dielectric behavior, can be e xplained on the assumption that they are improper antiferroelectrics. An approximate calculation gives a reasonable order of magnitude for t he parameters appearing in the formulas. This can be considered as a c onfirmation of the correctness of the ideas employed.
