Abstract
Single X-ray crystal structure analysis has been determined for the di butyltin derivatives of 2-mercaptobenzoxazole 1 and 5-chloro-2-mercapt obenzothiazole 2. In both cases, the geometry at the tin atom is that of an octahedron, and it is weakly coordinated by N,S chelating ligand s. Trypanocidal activity patterns are also presented, showing a large difference in behaviour between 1, 2 and the related bis (2-mercaptobe nzothiazolyl) dibutyltin. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science S.A.
