Abstract
Diallyl acetals undergo reductive cleavage of an allyloxy group by SmI 2 to generate alpha-allyloxy carbanions, which are transformed into ho moallyl alcohols by 2,3-Wittig rearrangement. (C) 1998 Elsevier Scienc e Ltd. All rights reserved.
