Gn. Weisensel et Al. Schlack, RESPONSE OF ANNULAR PLATES TO CIRCUMFERENTIALLY AND RADIALLY MOVING LOADS, Journal of applied mechanics, 60(3), 1993, pp. 649-661
The forced dynamic response of annular plates to circumferentially and
radially moving concentrated transverse loads is investigated utilizi
ng classical plate theory, with damping included, and solved in integr
al form. The boundary conditions are that the inner boundary of the pl
ate is clamped and the outer boundary is free. An analytical expressio
n in Fourier-Bessel series form is obtained for the forced deflection
response to an arbitrarily moving concentrated load. This study includ
es radially moving loads and is a significant extension of the underst
anding of circular and annular plate dynamics. This understanding of r
adially moving loads is used to examine the nature of resonance condit
ions and corresponding critical values of the load parameters. The sha
pes of deflection modes of plate vibration are also presented. Damping
and loading parameter sensitivities are studied in detail.
