J. Davenport, NOTE ON THE TROPHIC RELATIONSHIPS OF THE STAUROMEDUSA HALICLYSTUS-ANTARCTICUS FROM SUB-ANTARCTIC SOUTH GEORGIA, Journal of the Marine Biological Association of the United Kingdom, 78(2), 1998, pp. 663-664
A stauromedusan Haliclystus antarcticus was found to be common in inte
rtidal and shallow subtidal waters on the shores of subantarctic South
Georgia. Evidence is presented to show that the medusae eat both plan
ktonic and benthic prey. In turn, the medusae are preyed upon by a you
ng fish, Notothenia rossii.
