Abstract
Cerium ammonium nitrate demethylation and oxidation of 3,6-dimethoxy-1 H-cyclopropa[b]-naphthalene 6 provides 1H-cyclopropa[b]naphthalene-3,6 -dione 8 as the first stable cyclopropaquinone.
