The antioxidative activity and the activity with respect to a diphenyl
picrylhydrazyl radical of water-soluble polymeric derivatives of steri
cally hindered phenols based on the functional copolymers of N-vinylpy
rrolidone were studied. It was shown that the rate of the reaction bet
ween the free radicals and the given polymeric derivatives is determin
ed by the type of polymer-phenol bond and the nature of the reaction m
edium. It was found that the molecular masses of the studied polymers
and the content of phenol in these polymers insignificantly affect the
rate of the radical reaction.
