Abstract
Since its start-up in 1970, the hot-dip galvanising line has been mode rnised in two stages and extensively equipped with automation systems. It has thereby been possible to increase the capacity of the line to 540,000 tpa and to enlarge the spectrum of products. A newly developed coating control system has led to better tolerances and a reduced thi ckness of the zinc coatings. The surface quality has been improved by using a newly developed burner. A skin-pass rolling stand with an enha nced bending system, as well as long-life Pretex rolls and an anti-fin gerprint coating have contributed towards an improvement in strip qual ity.
