A. Komersova et al., INDIRECT DETERMINATION OF URANIUM TRACES BY ADSORPTIVE STRIPPING VOLTAMMETRY WITH ARSENAZO-III, Electroanalysis, 10(6), 1998, pp. 442-445
Trace concentrations of uranium were determined indirectly using adsor
ptive stripping voltammetry with Arsenate III. The current response wa
s characterized with respect to pH, concentration of the reagent in a
supporting electrolyte, accumulation time and accumulation potential.
Optimum conditions included a supporting electrolyte of 0.1 M KCL + HC
l (pH 1.8) containing Arsenate III (5.7 x 10(-7) mol/L), an accumulati
on potential of 0 V (vs. SCE), and a scan range from -0.4 V to 0 V usi
ng a hanging mercury drop electrode. With an accumulation period of 12
0 s, a detection limit of 1 x 10(-8) mol/L of uranium was obtained. Th
e proposed method was applied for the determination of uranium traces
in water and soil samples.
