Rj. Hauke et al., EPSTEIN-BARR VIRUS-ASSOCIATED LYMPHOPROLIFERATIVE DISORDER AFTER AUTOLOGOUS BONE-MARROW TRANSPLANTATION - REPORT OF 2 CASES, Bone marrow transplantation, 21(12), 1998, pp. 1271-1274
Epstein-Barr virus-associated lymphoproliferative disorders have been
frequently reported as a complication of solid organ and allogeneic bo
ne marrow transplantation. Their occurrence is rare after autologous b
one marrow transplantation (BMT) with only five published reports in t
he literature, We report two cases of posttransplant lymphoproliferati
ve disorder occurring after autologous BMT for Hodgkin's disease and n
on-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorders c
an occur after autologous BMT and should be included in the differenti
al diagnosis of patients with persistent fever, adenopathy or pulmonar
y infiltrates.
