Abstract
Study on the racial structure of Tor putitora (Hamilton) was conducted in the foothill section of the river Ganga. Correlation coefficient ( r) was significant at P<0.005 in all the variables except for distance between pectoral and anal fin (DPA) and pre-anal distance (PAD) durin g winter in relation to total length and eye diameter (ED) during mons oon in relation to head length which were significant. The F ratio was significant at P<0.05 in all the variables. The population showed hom ogeneity in the sex, season and year samples. The statistics r.b and F were high for standard length (SL) in relation to total length and po st-orbital distance (POD) in relation to head length.
