Mh. Jarrett et al., PRIDE IN PARENTING TRAINING-PROGRAM - A CURRICULUM FOR TRAINING LAY HOME VISITORS, Infants and young children, 11(1), 1998, pp. 61-72
The Pride in Parenting Training Curriculum was developed by a transdis
ciplinary team of professionals as part of a community-based research
project of the National Institutes of Health-District of Columbia Init
iative to Reduce Infant Mortality in Minority Populations. The 25-unit
training program has been used to train lay home visitors to deliver
a home visiting curriculum focused on effective use of health care ser
vices and improved infant development. The curriculum is a valuable re
source for the preparation of paraprofessionals who can address the ne
eds of mothers and infants in an integrated manner.
