Abstract
1. Protein synthesis ([C-14]glycine incorporation) was examined at dif ferent times of day in several tissues of a teleost fish. 2. Incorpora tion of [C-14]glycine varied during the day in all the tissues examine d (scale, muscle, liver and intestine). The times of peak incorporatio ns of the label differed among the tissues. 3. The results suggest tha t rhythms of growth promoting hormones and/or rhythms of tissue respon ses may have important roles in the regulation of growth and developme nt.
