Abstract
Traffic growth estimates in the BT network are presented for the first half of the next century, arising from business and private usage. Th e estimates are obtained by considering how the working habits of indi viduals change as advanced communications technology becomes available . It is estimated that traffic will grow by several orders of magnitud e compared to current levels, mainly due to different forms of video c ommunications.
