Abstract
Fine powders with nominal composition of GeFe2Ox were synthesized by t he aerogel method. The highly heterogeneous material comprises of smal l crystallites, not larger than 3 nm, in a mixture of amorphous matrix . Nevertheless, Mossbauer spectroscopy indicates that the Fe ions in m any different environments in the calcined product undergo simultaneou sly an antiferromagnetic transition near 265 K.
