TRUSTED 3RD-PARTY SERVICES FOR HEALTH-CARE IN EUROPE

EUROMED-ETS was an one-year project supported by the European Commissi on (INFOSEC programme, DGXIII). Its goal was to secure telemedicine ap plications over the world wide web (WWW). The solution proposed and ad opted during this project was based on the establishment of trusted th ird party services (TTPS) based on secure session layer (SSL). This so lution was demonstrated and validated using an existing telemedicine p latform. In this paper, the proposed solution will be presented, the s pecifications of the test bed will be provided and the pilot operation will be described. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
