Chemical investigation of the methanol extract of the Indian ocean gor
gonian coral Subergorgia suberosa resulted in isolation and identifica
tion of four novel compounds 2-5. Structural investigation revealed co
mpound 1 to be subergorgic acid and the others its analogues.
