Abstract
Two (Z)-dehydrobutyrine(Dhb)-containing microcystins, [D-Asp(3), (Z)-D hb(7)]microcystin-HtyR (1) and [D-Asp(3), (Z)-Dhb(7)]microcystin-LR (2 ), were isolated from a hepatotoxic bloom of the cyanobacterium Oscill atoria agardhii from a freshwater lake in Scotland. The geometrical st ructure of the Dhb units in the microcystins was determined as Z on th e basis of NOE and ROESY experiments.
