A new genus and species of foraminifera is described from the Maastric
htian of the Golkoy (Ordu) region of Turkey. It is named Sirelina ordu
ensis n. gen., n. sp. The test of the genus has a microgranular calcer
eous structure and chevron canal systems are visible. In the early sta
ge, chambers have a coiled milioline structure; however, they are troc
hospiral in the juvenile stage and uniserial in the adult stage. In th
e adult stage, lateral orbital chamber are developed. The aperture is
cribrate in shape. It may easily be distinguished from the other simil
ar genera by its test structure and coiling system.
