Abstract
Both dioxepine rings of the title compound, 1,5-dihydro-3-(4,7-dihydro - ydroxy-8-methyl-3H-[1,3]dioxepino[5,6-c]pyridinium maleate, adopt a twist-boat conformation. In the crystal structure the maleate anions a re stacked exactly between the pyridine rings of the cations at an ave rage distance of 3.5 angstrom.
