The coercive field of explosion sintered Sm2Fe17Nx magnet is analysed
on the basis of micromagnetism. Results indicate that the coercivity o
f explosion sintered Sm2Fe17Nx magnet is controlled by the nucleation
field near the grain surface. The large demagnetization factor origina
tes from the strong strayfields of nonmagnetic poles, magnetically sof
t phases, and the very sharp corners of Sm2Fe17Nx grains.
