TRITERPENOID SAPONINS FROM ZYGOPHYLLUM-DECUMBENS

Three new triterpenoid saponins, 3-O-[beta-D-glucuronic acid pyranosyl ]-arjunolic acid-28-O-[beta-D-glucopyranosyl] ester (zygophyloside I), 3-O-[beta-D-glucuronic acid pyranosyl]-30-norajunolic acid-28-O-[beta -D-glucopyranosyl] ester (zygophyloside J) and 3-O-[beta-D-glucuronic acid pyranosyl]-29-hydroxyoleanolic acid-28-O-[beta-D-glucopyranosyl] ester (zygophyloside K) have been isolated from Z. decumbens. The stru ctures were established primarily on the basis of NMR spectroscopy. Th e assignments of all NMR signals were performed by means of H-1-H-1 CO SY, NOESY, POESY, TOCSY, HMQC and HMBC experiments. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
