HEAVY-DUTY DRAG-CHAIN CONVEYORS FOR METERED HOPPER EXTRACTION

Heavy-duty drag-chain conveyors are 2- to 5-strand chain conveyors whi ch convey material in the upper strand on a wear-resistant base plate. Any material falling from the chains and scrapers is carried back to the upper strand in the otherwise empty lower strand There is no need for additional cleaning scrapers positioned underneath. This gives a l ow structural height, which is an advantage for plant design. Informat ion is provided about the constructional details of the conveyor, whic h has been established for a long time in underground mining, descript ions are given of various designs of the heavy-duty drag-chain conveyo r used as hopper extraction units, and examples are quoted of the vari ed applications, including crusher feeding.
