Abstract
This article presents a calculation method for the transient heating o f power cables in crossing configuration. By the aid of this method th e current ratings can be determined taking into account the longitudin al heat flux through the metallic construction elements of the cables as well as the transient conductor temperatures for different load sit uations. An example will elucidate the calculation method.
