Abstract
Object Oriented technologies have been chosen to design and implement the first prototype of the CMS Reconstruction and Analysis software. T he architecture is based on an application framework in which physics software modules can be plugged in a flexible and customisable way. A key feature of this framework is a mechanism for reconstruction on dem and which has been already subjected to intensive prototype work. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
