T. Diepold et al., A MICROMACHINED CONTINUOUS INK-JET PRINT HEAD FOR HIGH-RESOLUTION PRINTING, Journal of micromechanics and microengineering, 8(2), 1998, pp. 144-147
The aim of this work was the development of an ink jet imaging unit fo
r offset printing formes. A high-resolution (1200 dpi) ink jet print h
ead based on the principle of continuous ink jet printing is presented
. Using the outstanding properties of silicon bulk micromachining this
microsystem was fabricated. It consists of a multinozzle print head,
a charging electrode array and an array of ink shields to drain off th
e unused ink.
