Compounds of the type OGOAsS2POG'O [where G = -CMe2CMe2-, -CH2CMe2CH2-
, G' = -CMe2CMe2-, -CH2CMe2CH2-, CH2CH2CHMe-, and -CMe2CH2CHMe-] have
been synthesized by the reactions of ammonium salts of alkylene dithio
phosphates with 2-chloro-1,3,2-dioxarsolanes and -arsenanes. The new d
erivatives are yellow crystalline solids, soluble in common organic so
lvents, monomeric in nature, and are characterized by elemental analys
es, molecular weight measurements, IR and multinuclear NMR (H-1, C-13,
and P-31) spectroscopic data.
