Abstract
Amoebic liver abscesses (ALA) are characteristically large lesions at presentation, but their development in man has not previously been des cribed. We present a case of an ALA that over the course of 2 days dev eloped from an undetectable lesion to a 5 cm diameter lesion. This cli nical history suggests that the pathogenesis of ALAs map pursue an acu te rather than a chronic course.
