Abstract
We created a video-tape about the concept of telemedicine for informat ional and educational purposes. Two video-tapes, one with and one with out the informed consent segment, were distributed to each of the Kent ucky TeleCare sites. On the day of their teleconsultation, patients we re asked to watch the video-tape (with the version containing the info rmed consent segment) before signing the informed consent to participa te. Site coordinators then asked patients whether they had any specifi c questions about telemedicine. To date, patients have reported high l evels of satisfaction with this method of consultation, using telecomm unications technology to deliver health care.
