N. Lopezmolina et al., TYPING OF SALMONELLA-ENTERITIDIS OF DIFFERENT PHAGE TYPES OF PCR FINGERPRINTING, Journal of applied microbiology, 84(5), 1998, pp. 877-882
Fifty-nine isolates of Salmonella spp. were typed by PCR fingerprintin
g using three single primers: ERIC2, M13 and OPS-19. First, their disc
rimination power in a group of nine different serotypes were studied a
nd considerable differences in the band patterns were obtained. Furthe
r, a panel of 51 isolates of Salmonella enteritidis with eight differe
nt phage types were analysed with the three primers. The discriminatin
g power increased by combining the patterns of the three primers, and
in this case it was possible to distinguish between some phage types o
f Salm. enteritidis, but not all of them were differentiated.
