An electrochemical technique incorporating stabilized-zirconia as the
solid electrolyte and a Mo + MoO2, mixture as the reference electrode
has been applied for the determination of the activities of Sn in (Ru-
Sn) alloys. At 1573 K and X-Sn > 0.60, the activities of Sn were very
close to the ideal behavior. Nevertheless, the heat of mixing showed r
elatively large negative values.
