Abstract
The fabrication of large domain Levitators(TM) by using Nd1+xBa2-xCu3O y single crystals as seeds for frictionless superconductor-magnet bear ings has been reported earlier. In order to demonstrate the feasibilit y of large scale manufacturing of YBCO Levitators(TM), batch sizes of approximate to 90 samples were fabricated in a furnace. A distribution in levitation forces of the Levitators(TM) was observed. Possible fac tors responsible for this distribution and the feasibility of scale up are discussed in this paper.
