S. Caprara, REDUCTION OF THE CHARGE-DENSITY-WAVE AMPLITUDE IN A STRONGLY CORRELATED SYSTEM, Journal of physics. Condensed matter, 10(24), 1998, pp. 5389-5398
The competition between strong electronic correlations and charge orde
ring due to an external potential are studied in the infinite-U Hubbar
d model by means of the slave-boson technique. The quasi-particle scre
ening of the external potential produces a reduction of the charge-den
sity-wave amplitude with respect to the non-interacting (i.e. U = 0) c
ase. The mechanism becomes more and more effective as the number of el
ectrons per site is increased towards unity.
