3,5-Dinitro-4-methylbenzoic acid functions as a host accommodating gue
st molecules in cavities created due to the coupling of six neighbouri
ng molecules through hydrogen bonding. 2,6-Dimethylnaphthalene is enca
psulated within the cavity unlike naphthalene. It is thought that the
latter is not able to effectively fill the cavity. (C) 1998 Published
