Abstract
The way of lithiation of spinel cobalt oxide by solid state reaction o f Li2CO3 and Co3O4 was investigated by electronic paramagnetic resonan ce (EPR) analysis. The results indicated that lithiation takes place o nly onto the surface of Co3O4 particles, while lithium ions are not pr esent in the bulk of the spinel oxide. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
