Abstract
The present investigation utilised monoclonal antibodies directed agai nst subunits of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor in immunoblot and immunoprecipitation studies, which failed to demonstrate that the nat ive 5-hydroxytryptamine(3) (5-HT3) receptor complex purified from porc ine brain contains the alpha(1), alpha(3), alpha(4), alpha(5), alpha(7 ), or beta(2) subunits of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor.
