Vk. Golubev et al., FAILURE OF URANIUM ALLOYS WITH MOLYBDENUM AND ZIRCONIUM UNDER SHOCK-WAVE LOADING IN THE TEMPERATURE-RANGE FROM -196 TO 800-DEGREES-C, Russian metallurgy. Metally, (1), 1998, pp. 130-131
The cleavage fracture of the two alloys U-1.4 mass % Mo and U-1.4 mass
% Mo - 0.7 mass % Zr is investigated in the temperature range from -1
96 to 800 degrees C. The critical levels of shock-wave loading corresp
onding to the nucleation of cleavage defects and total macroscopic fai
lure of the sample are determined. Data on the failure of the alloy at
different temperatures are obtained by metallographic analysis.
