M. Itagaki et al., IN-SITU DETERMINATION OF DISSOLVED METALL IC-IONS BY CHANNEL FLOW ELECTRODE WITH SPECTROPHOTOMETRY, Denki Kagaku Oyobi Kogyo Butsuri Kagaku, 66(5), 1998, pp. 543-548
UV/visible specrtophotometry has been employed for the detection of io
ns emitted from the working electrode in channel flow electrode system
. Using ferrocyanide solution, the absorbance of ferricyanide emitted
from the working electrode was measured at the downstream of the worki
ng electrode. The absorbance (Abs.) has the following relations with t
he electrolyte flow rate (V-m) and the flux of generated species (psi)
: Abs. proportional to phi . V-m(-2/3) in the lamminar flow condition
, Abs. proportional to phi . V m(-1) in the turbulent flow condition.
The present method was applied to the investigation of Al dissolution,
and in situ detection of dissolved Al (III) was done.
