V. Ivanov et G. Nankov, PROFILING OF ROTATION TOOLS FOR FORMING OF HELICAL SURFACES, International journal of machine tools & manufacture, 38(9), 1998, pp. 1125-1148
This paper presents a generalized analytical method for profiling of a
ll types of rotation tools for forming helical surfaces. The profile d
f these surfaces is specified discretely and there are no limits for i
ts complexity, variety and determination in a certain section. A mathe
matical model is created which determines optimal calculation position
providing such a space orientation of the tool at which rational geom
etry of the cutting tooth of radial relieved profile milling cutter is
obtained. Research is carried out for the influence of the input info
rmation of profiling and adjustment of the tool on the accuracy of the
helical surface. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
