Abstract
Light emission from a BeCu sample under 6 keV O-2(+) bombardment is st udied. BeI, Bell and CuI spectral lines show transient at beam-off con ditions. At the base pressure of rest gas, the transients are relative ly strong, especially for Bell. When the target chamber is backfilled with oxygen at high pressure, the transients become weak for Bell and CuI lines and almost absent for all of the BeI lines. (C) 1998 Elsevie r Science B.V.
