Abstract
New information concerning RNA structure is accumulating at an ever in creasing rate - from short helices with mismatched bases to 5S rRNA an d complex RNA aptamers. The importance of recurring structural motifs, ion binding, and the kinetics and energetics of folding in RNA struct ure and function is now being recognized and addressed.
